Gary Packen, Director of the City of Denton Parks and Recreation, spoke to the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club
He devoted is presentation to all the projects and plans the City of Denton has for their communities. From inclusive playgrounds, improvements to the aquatic centers, more public art displays or a new adult center, the Denton Parks and Rec are working to to unite and grow lives by preserving parks and encouraging play.
The Denton Parks & Rec department maintains the City's recreational facilities and programs, outdoor athletic fields, parks, open spaces, natural areas, tree inventory, and the IOOF and Oakwood Cemeteries. They offer a wide range of activities, programs, and events for everyone!
Their Mission: UNITE internally and within the community, GROW lives physically, mentally, and emotionally, PRESERVE parks by being good stewards, ENCOURAGE PLAY
